Today, it operates as a proud family-owned and run establishment. The Sheehan family has poured their hearts into the property since 1986. Currently managed by Mike—the eldest sibling who grew up running through the venue—and his partner Belinda, the brewhouse maintains a genuinely warm, inviting, and friendly atmosphere. Raising their own young children, Flynn and Harriet, the owners understand what makes a dining experience successful and relaxing for parents, grandparents, and children alike.

The Bush Inn Brewhouse focuses heavily on showcasing local Tasmanian produce alongside a casual, high-quality dining experience. The kitchen team serves up an extensive selection of artisan sourdough pizzas that act as a primary drawcard for hungry families. For added convenience, the venue is open for both lunch and dinner from 12:00pm to 9:00pm, keeping the kitchen cooking all day long so families can eat at times that suit shifting toddler schedules. The venue operates four days a week, welcoming guests on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, while closing from Sunday to Tuesday.
The children’s menu is highly straightforward, practical, and interactive. Priced at $15 AUD, every dedicated kids’ meal automatically includes a small drink and a comforting bowl of vanilla ice cream. Designed specifically for children aged 10 and under, the menu features classic favourites alongside an engaging culinary activity:

Make Your Own Pizza: An interactive experience where staff bring out the fresh sourdough and ingredients directly to the table. Children get to assemble their own creations before the kitchen bakes them to order (with a low-gluten, GF option readily available upon request).
